Background

I have been in the fitness industry for the last ten years, starting out as Group Fitness Instructor and later on as a Personal Trainer. Having come from a very athletic background, I quickly realized that a desk job was not for me after serving a short stint an Accountant in a Nairobi Restaurant. I quickly transitioned into fitness because I realized that everything I did in the industry was effortless and seemed natural.

I have worked in a number of gyms dealing with all manner of clients with a wide range of needs. This has enabled me to gain a lot of experience training all sorts of clients ranging from those who want to get in shape or rehabilitate after an injury. I have also mastered the ability to teach a number of group classes including HI LO Aerobics, Step, Body Toning, Basic Self Defense and Pilates.

My exercise programs emphasize more on functional strength training, core strength, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and flexibility through Pilates. Depending on your goals, I tailor a workout routine based on the mentioned principles to meet your specific needs. I also try to educate my clients whenever possible so that they know what they are doing and why they are doing it because I believe a client with the right knowledge is a successful client.

The most rewarding part of my job is helping you transform your body, gain strength, mobility and confidence to enjoy a healthy and meaningful life. In my free time, I enjoy jogging, swimming, reading and spending time with my friends and family.

What Makes Me Different as a Personal Trainer

When you become my client, I become Your Fitness Coach. I will guide you on ensuring that your life is balanced, show you the steps you need to take to handle obstacles to your success, and offer you nutritional guidance and ways to handle the stresses of everyday life. To be able to do this, I keep abreast of the industry’s cutting edge knowledge and hold myself by the highest standards.

My job is to motivate you to exercise both during our sessions together and when working out on your own. I start by taking you through an initial consultation where we discuss your diet, goals, and how to achieve them. I then take your body measurements which act as a guide for continued progress and discuss a program that will best fit your needs.

Everybody is different, so when I create a program, I look at the individual and design a routine based on their needs, wants, goals and objectives. My training is functional and emphasizes core strength, stability and balance, and focuses on exercises that target several muscle groups. For a well rounded routine, I incorporate Pilates in my programming which is a favorite for beginning exercisers, pre and post natal women and those recovering from injuries.

In terms of nutrition, my focus is total body and lifestyle change. I teach my clients on how to eat correctly and lose weight gradually and be able to keep it off for good. I never recommend diets because diets always set you up to fail. As a Personal Trainer, I have never seen a strict diet succeed, rather it leaves you depressed and frustrated.

I pride myself in being one of the eminent Kenyan trainers due to my credentials, experience and diversity in exercise programming. I acquired my credential in Exercise Science and Fitness Training from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) which is accredited by NCCA. Through study I have acquired skills in bodybuilding, exercise to music classes, nutrition, Yoga and Pilates.

Due to this extensive knowledge, I am able to provide my clients with a never ending diversity in exercise routines and programming depending on their energy levels for the day and mood among others. Through verbal assessment, I determine my clients’ personality and hence design programs that suit them. I also assess my clients’ nutrition and through continued counseling and guidance, they are able to make the necessary lifestyle changes. My mission as a Personal Trainer is to better the quality of life for my clients and by extension change Kenya into the hale and hearty nation it once was.
